Walk to School Day: Thank You!

Thank you to all the families who participated in the Walk to School Day last Wednesday!

Family Engagement Committee Survey

The Family Engagement Committee has created a survey to learn more about how you want to engage with the Curley this year. Please fill it out by Thursday, October 10th so that we can create more opportunities for families to engage with the school this year. Support the Curley Fall Fling

The Fall Fling is almost here! We can’t wait to see you on Friday, October 18th from 5:30-8:00 pm. There will be games, face painting, food and lots of family fun!  

There will also be a raffle! Raffle Tickets will come home in your child’s backpack this week for you to buy or sell to friends and family. Funds raised through the raffle goes directly to our school. This year’s prizes are:

  • $350 gift card to Ferris Wheels bike shop!
  • 2 Facebook Portals with Alexa
  • $300 Visa gift card

School Site Council: Tuesday, October 8th

Please join us for our first School Site Council (SSC) meeting on Tuesday, October 8th from 5:30-7:00pm in Room 209. All families are welcome to attend.

Family Engagement Committee Meeting: Thursday, October 10th

The Family Engagement Committee is meeting on Thursday, October 10th at 7:30am in the Library, if you would like to attend, enter through the front doors on Centre Street. Email Jocelyn Stanton for more info (Jocelyn.stanton@gmail.com)

Principal Breakfast: Friday, October 11th

Please join us for our first Principal Breakfast of the year on Friday, October 11th from 8:45-9:45am. Families can sign in at the main office starting at 8:40am and we will meet in the CASP Office (ground floor Upper School). We will have time to chat with Principal Grassa and we will offer tours of the building for families. All families are welcome to attend.

No School: Monday, October 14th

Please note that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 14th.

School Pictures: October 15th, 16th, and 17th

School pictures will be taken on October 15th, 16th & 17th. Order forms were sent home with the students. Please email your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

School Parent Council: Wednesday, October 16th

Our next SPC meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 16th from 8:45-9:45am in the CASP Office. Families who are attending should enter on Centre Street starting at 8:40am, sign in at the main office and walk down to the CASP Office. All families are welcome; snacks, coffee, and Spanish translation will be available.

If you were unable to join us for our September meeting you can read the meeting minutes and learn about the many ways you can volunteer to support the students and teachers at the Curley.

Thanks & Front of School Cleanup with Bake Sale: Sunday, October 20th

Thank you to all who participated in Sunday morning’s cleanup of the Outdoor Classroom! We filled 52 bags with yard waste, ate pizza, and met more members of the Curley community. Check out the before and after pictures below.

Join the Schoolyard Improvement Committee on Sunday, October 20th, anytime between 10am-12noon, to rake leaves in the front yard (Centre Street). 30 minutes of your time and effort makes a HUGE difference! Tools and gloves provided. We will also hold a bake sale to raise funds for the schoolyard.

Pizza lunch provided at 12 noon. Kids can play together on the playground (supervision will be provided) or help out with the bake sale.

Grades 3-5 School Musical: Willy Wonka

It’s that time again! The Spring musical for students in grades 3-5 will be Willie Wonka. Follow this link to hear songs from the show, and see the list of characters.

Our first rehearsal will be Tuesday, October 22nd from 3:30-5pm. Ms. Alves, Ms. Untermyer, and Ms. Taylor-Knight will be leading students in games and practicing some of the songs.

We will be performing the show at the end of March and our rehearsals this year are on Tuesdays from 3:30-5pm. We will be working with Ms. Mercado, CASP Director, to involve more of her afterschool students as well.
