School Climate Surveys: Please complete the BPS School Climate Survey you can now access online surveys on the Boston Public Schools webpage in English, Spanish, Haitian, Somali, Vietnamese, Cape Verdean, Chinese, and Portuguese. K-5 Report Cards: Report cards were sent home with students K-5 on Friday, March 31st. Please check your child’s backpack.
Free Tickets: There are 10 free tickets to the Ice Chips Show of Champions. It is a skating show held at Harvard’s ice rink put on by The Skating Club of Boston. There are a wide variety of performers; from young learn-to-skate participants to a two-time World Champion. Curley Annual Spring Plant Sale:
Our annual plant sale will be on Saturday, May 6th from 10:00-2:00. We will look for help the day of but if anyone is interested in planning or helping in advance, should contact Kristin Jurkoic at firstname.lastname@example.org
MCAS: The MCAS testing will begin on Tuesday, April 4th and go through the end of May. This is a long window, which helps us ensure that students aren’t testing on back-to-back days. SSC: Please join us for the April SSC meeting on Tuesday, April 4th from 5:30pm-7:00pm in Room 209. All attendees should enter through the CASP doors.
The Lion King: We have one final show coming up and we hope you can join us! There will be a special performance at the Shubert Theatre in downtown Boston on Thursday, April 6th. Doors open at 5 pm & Show starts at 5:30. You need a ticket to see the show! Parent University: BPS Parent University seeks to “educate and empower parents as partners, advocates and lifelong teachers in their child’s education through educational courses and leadership opportunities.” Our next Parent University Large Conference will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Northeastern University from 8:30 am -3:00 pm. This is a FREE event for all families and we provide breakfast, lunch, parking passes and childcare with pre-registration. Library and Technology Committee: The Curley K-8 Library will reopen next fall, with a full-time paraprofessional staff person! Thank you again to the Curley community for the successful fundraising drive, we are more than halfway to our goal of $70,000. Our next committee meeting is Saturday, April 8 at 8:30 am at the school (Centre Street entrance) to discuss our next round of fundraising and grant writing. We are assembling teams for specific projects in the library, and anyone interested in joining a crew, can email Pam Yosca at firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate if you are available to work on a regular basis (you will receive training) to organize/catalog books; or, if you would like to work an afternoon here or there painting, assembling furniture, and other miscellaneous tasks.
